Mayo Clinic Pharmacy provides comprehensive pharmacy services to patients who receive outpatient medical care at Mayo Clinic or have been dismissed from a Mayo Clinic hospital as well as Mayo Clinic staff and their families. Pharmacy staff includes registered pharmacists and certified technicians at seven pharmacy locations.
Pharmacy support services include a full service business office offering electronic billing to many third party payers and a shipping department serving all patients, local to international, with their medication needs. Mayo Clinic Pharmacy utilizes automated state-of-the-art systems and technology to provide the highest level of security and safety for all of our processes.
Mayo Clinic Pharmacy services support the mission of Mayo Clinic through the full range of pharmacy services as well as through specialized services for personalized medication management — Mayo Clinic Specialty Pharmacy and Medication Therapy Management.
Mayo Clinic Specialty Pharmacy offers pharmacy services to people with chronic health conditions who need long-term drug therapy. An experienced pharmacy professional works closely with the patient’s Mayo Clinic care team to develop a personalized medication management program. Pharmacy staff can supply the medications needed after returning home and coordinate billing and claims.
Mayo Clinic Pharmacy also offers Medication Therapy Management, an individual consultation with patients on their medications. Specially trained pharmacists provide personalized, comprehensive medication therapy management reviews, working closely with other members of the patient’s care team, including physicians, nurses and other caregivers. This in-depth review will help patients get the most from medications while avoiding serious drug interactions and other problems.
